| Atrium T-Cap
Replacements |
 |
| 1 |
Remove the old T-Cap and woven pads. Be sure to thoroughly
clean the T-Cap kerf in the sill. |
| 2 |
The kerf must be thoroughly filled and sealed prior to
installation of the new threshold. This can be accomplished with a good quality
caulking compound. Be sure to seal the ends of the kerf at the jamb and fixed
panel(s). |
| 3 |
Dry fit the oak threshold into position and drill pilot holes into
the sill. |
| 4 |
Apply 2 beads of silicone caulk 1/4" from the interior and
exterior of the sill. Also, caulk each edge of the new T-Cap substrate. |
| 5 |
Run a small bead of caulking along the top outside leading edge of
the oak threshold prior to installing the snap-on vinyl threshold cover. It may be
necessary to use a rubber mallet to install the vinyl cover. |
| 6 |
Replace woven pads with new ones. Peel the back off and
position on either end. It may be necessary to use brass or galvanized brads to hold
pads in place. Staples will also suffice if available. |
